Skipping meals is never a good idea when you are trying to lose weight, but new research also suggests that delaying meals can have an impact on weight loss as well.

The study found that women who ate a late lunch, after 3 p.m., lost less weight than women who ate lunch earlier. The late-eaters also lost their weight at a much slower rate.

The study suggests that the timing of meals may be an important part of the weight-loss puzzle, because waiting too long to eat may disrupt the body's metabolism.
