A sure sign that the Christmas season is upon us!  As I walked by these empty boxes in the station hallway yesterday, the first thought that came to mind was "wow! Those would make cool forts to play in"....LOL.  Then a little voice came on and said "but Ken, you are an adult now and...etc.".

Normally, when I would walk by something like that, I wouldn't give it a second glance...but there is something about the season that focuses our thoughts back to a simpler time, back to our childhood when our needs were met by our parents.  After homework and a few chores, our time was our own-to explore, to be creative and have fun.

These are modes of thinking that would serve us well later in life, in brainstorming sessions or playing with our kids...but they often get overlooked because society tells us to act "adult-like".  I say, to heck with that!  Let's keep that innocent mode of thinking turned on.

So, how many "boxes" (i.e., opportunities) have you passed by lately because you were too busy being grown up?
